The two of you work together to discover the best direction of treatment with Joel as a facilitator helping your body heal itself.
Over the past 17 years, Joel has strived to improve his knowledge and abilities to provide his clients with bodywork that is gentle and effective. After graduating from the Reese Institute of Oviedo Florida in 1994, Joel completed an additional 252 hours of Neuromuscular therapy training before becoming a Certified Neuromuscular Therapist. Joel feels that to be a truly great massage therapist he must challenge himself by continually taking advanced training to provide his clients with relief from stubborn chronic pain and stress.
For example, Joel constantly improves his knowledge of anatomy and physiology. This improved knowledge helps Joel identify, isolate and treat the appropriate muscles and fascia that are the causing the pain or discomfort. Joel looks at the body from a local and a global perspective. The source of most soft tissue pain is away from where it hurts and often mimics common issues such as sciatica , carpal tunnel syndrome or even migraine headaches. Finding the source of your pain requires putting the pieces together. Does your pain come from opposing muscle or fascia that is stretching and overloading the sore area? Is there neural interference from soft tissue compression on a nerve causing the pain? Do you have a postural imbalance that if not treated properly will cause your pain to return shortly after treatment? Having a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology along with advanced training in Deep Tissue Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy provides Joel with very effective tools to help relieve your pain, improve your performance, restore ease of movement and help you relax.
Please don't hesitate to contact Joel if you are considering massage therapy. Massage therapy is a very powerful tool that can help relieve stress and pain in your body when applied correctly. Joel invites you call or email him with any questions you may have as to whether massage therapy would be an appropriate choice for you.
